Programmes

We believe strongly in the power of dance to improve individual and community wellbeing and this is why we work to bring dance to as many health and care settings as possible.

Playful Paediatrics transforms paediatric environments into imaginative, interactive worlds supporting physical, emotional, and social wellbeing for patients, families, and staff.

Delivered in partnership with services including Healthy Living Weight Management Service; Paediatric Oncology; Diabetes, Paediatric Mental Health teams; SEN schools (community services); Sickle Cell transition workshops it reaches children with long-term conditions, additional needs, resistant to movement and inpatient and community paediatric services including staff, all whom are keen to engage

Playful Paediatrics

What it includes:

  • Motion capture and dance performances about friendship and creativity. 

  • 121 dance and/or dance and motion capture engagements. 

  • Group movement workshops. 

  • Group motion capture and movement workshops. 

  • Staff workshops to provide some respite and opportunity to move their body in a restorative way for them. 

    All with a flexible approach and personalised programmes.

This project:

  1. Increases physical activity participation through play, creativity, and choice.

  2. Builds positive connections between patients, families, and staff, reducing isolation.

  3. Delivers high-quality artistic experiences comparable to leading specialist children’s hospitals e.g GOSH.

  4. Supports staff wellbeing through play, relaxation, stress reduction, and improved morale.

We deliver creative movement sessions in care home settings, meeting people where they are and encouraging gentle physical activity while exploring ways residents can contribute their own ideas to creative tasks.
